ROSIN COVEN, HOUSE BAND & FOUNDERS OF THE EDWARDIAN BALL

Rosin Coven, your Edwardian Ball Hosts, dreamt up this spectacle long ago in a dust-covered martini bar in the middle of a bleak desert. They proudly continue the tradition of bringing a Gorey story to life each year in partnership with Vau de Vire Society. Eight musicians blend violin, two cellos, bass, guitar, harp, vibraphone, trombone, drums & lush vocal harmonies in a strangely beautiful mix of classical, jazz, chamber, tango, klezmer, sultry lounge, theatrical cabaret, and cinematic dreams.

JILL TRACY

With her signature concoction of dark parlour and classical piano, haunting lyrics and seductive style, she creates a sound that conjures up glamorous shades of dark cabaret, early cinema, and film noir--- but with a distinctively modern flair.

"Best of the Bay" award winner, Jill Tracy was described in the SF Bay Guardian as "inimitable ...a shining beacon of almost beatific grace." Los Angeles Times recently named her a "modern musical icon."

NPR's All Things Considered calls her "utterly intriguing...transporting you into a magical world solely of her creation."

AGENT RIBBONS

"One of the most exciting bands to emerge from Sacramento's vibrant indie-rock scene is the Victorian punk duo known as Agent Ribbons. Consisting of Natalie Gordon on guitar and vocals and Lauren Hess on drums, the two pound out a singular sound reminiscent of the White Stripes lost in Alice's wonderland. Their sparse yet driving narratives have a surreal tint, often making the unlikely leap from children's story books to classic rock and back again. Gordon's guitar playing sets a perfect stage for her voice which unexpectedly leaps from low whisper to surprised yowl in a single phrase while Hess' metronomic drumming is steady and unique with unpredictable patterns and explosive fills. The two have carved a singular place for themselves on the West Coast with a rigorous touring schedule and instantly recognizable image. While local scenes fluctuate and disappear, the fortunes of these two talented musicians are likely to only rise." - LADYFEST Grass Valley
