The Edwardian World’s Faire proudly presents the opening of the 19th Annual Edwardian Ball weekend. For one night only, the World’s Faire presents a myriad of creative wonders, including fine art, science and technology, history, and kinetic installations. This year’s theme is “The Rose Pedal Garden,” in honor of Edward Gorey’s classic, “The Epiplectic Bicycle.” Longtime Edwardian co-creators Kinetic Steam Works and Cyclecide team up for the first time to create a jardin mecanique, where participants of all ages can pedal elegant contraptions to life amidst the setting of a reimagined English Garden.
Furthermore, the World’s Faire is honored to present Dakh Daughters from Ukraine - seven women present three vocalists and fifteen musical instruments in an incredible mix of music, languages, dialects and performance. Spawned by Kyiv’s Dakh Contemporary Art Centre, these actresses turned dark-cabaret band are one of the most unusual, provocative and electric acts of our day.
